When a buyer tours a new-construction community, the sales office typically asks them to complete a registration card on the spot. It’s critical that the buyer lists their REALTOR® on that card; without the agent’s name recorded at first contact, many builders will refuse to recognize—or compensate—the agent later. Ideally, the REALTOR® accompanies the buyer, but when that isn’t possible, the buyer must still designate the agent during initial registration.
